Terry Hargrave, Ph.D
Terry Hargrave, Ph.D. is nationally recognized for his pioneering work with intergenerational families and is the founder of Restoration Therapy.
Dr. Hargrave has authored over 35 professional articles and fifteen books including Restoration Therapy: Understanding and Guiding Healing in Marriage and Family Therapy (co-authored with Franz Pfitzer) and Advances and Techniques in Restoration Therapy (co-authored with Nicole Zasowski and Miyoung Yoon Hammer).
Dr. Hargrave has presented nationally and internationally on the concepts and processes of family and marriage restoration, intergenerational families, reconciliation and aging. His work has been featured on ABC News 20/20, Good Morning America and CBS This Morning as well as several national magazines and newspapers. He has been selected as a national conference plenary speaker and as a Master’s Series Therapist by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Hargrave was selected as the 2022 C. Davis Weyerhaeuser Faculty Award recipient for outstanding faculty member at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Sharon Hargrave, LMFT
Sharon Hargrave, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Arizona, California and Texas. As the founder of RelateStrong, Sharon served as the Executive Director of the Boone Center for the Family at Pepperdine University. She has also served as an affiliate faculty member in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Fuller Theological Seminary. Sharon and her husband Terry, speak nationally and internationally on issues pertaining to anxiety, marriage, intergenerational relationships, parenting, couples in ministry and the Restoration Therapy model.
She has co-authored 5 Days to a New Self with her husband.
Sharon currently has an online therapy practice working with individuals, couples and families for over 30 years. She specializes in working with conflicted couples, leadership relationships and intergenerational issues.

Rhett Smith, LMFT, BCC
Rhett Smith's therapeutic journey began during his senior year in college, working with Henry Rojas, the original Phoenix Suns gorilla mascot, in family co-therapy. This experience, combined with the traumatic loss of his mother to breast cancer, sparked his interest in helping others. Starting with college and career counseling at Grand Canyon University, Smith then completed a Master of Divinity and engaged in pastoral counseling at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, serving campuses like UCLA and USC.
Smith's dedication to counseling led him to pursue a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. His diverse experience includes community mental health work in Los Angeles and Dallas, marriage intensive work at The Hideaway Experience, and international mental health efforts in countries like Guatemala, Mexico, and Brazil. He currently provides therapy in his private practice and executive coaching to corporate clients, collaborating with organizations such as Marriott and Chick-fil-A.
Outside his practice, Smith is passionate about teaching and equipping leaders on anxiety and depression through consortiums with institutions like Pepperdine University and Fuller Theological Seminary. He continues to grow professionally within the Restoration Therapy community. In his personal life, he enjoys exploring trails, running ultra-distance races, and engaging in adventures like the Rim to Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon, as well as reading and writing.

Tanner Hargrove, Ph.D.
Tanner Hargrove earned a Bachelor and Master Degree from West Texas A&M University, a Master Degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Ca., and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Texas Tech University. He currently works as a private practice therapist with the offices of Amarillo Family Institute and is a full time instructor in the school of psychology @ Amarillo College.
Currently he holds licensure as a Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor in the state of Texas, and is a National Certified Counselor. Tanner works with couples, adolescents and families, as well as emerging adults.
Tanner is the clinical director for the Hideaway Experience Intensives and works with couples in distress and crisis seeing highly successful treatment using Restoration Therapy. He holds Level II certification in Restoration Therapy and actively pursues those principles in his practice.
Outside of therapy his interests include music, outdoor long distance running, reading, and good meals with good friends and family. His marriage and his children are his life’s sustaining force.
